Updating, license and support

Update the Addon and existing scenes, check the license or get help.

The current release is 1.4.7. Superhive repository installs update inside Blender with Update addon. Other installs use Install from Disk with the new ZIP. Each download includes UPDATE HELP.txt with these steps.

For an edition listed in your Superhive order:

  1. Open Superhive Orders and select GlassWare.
  2. Drag its extension install control into Blender.
  3. Follow the prompt to add Superhive as a remote repository. Enter your own Superhive API token when prompted.
  4. Install the extension and save Preferences if automatic saving is off.

Get the token from your Superhive account or the token link in the install prompt. Keep it private. GlassWare does not issue or collect tokens. Superhive’s setup guide shows the connection process.

No extension install control on the order? The product or version may not yet be detected as a valid extension. Contact product support. Purchases from other stores do not automatically appear in Superhive.

Adding Superhive as a repository does not move an existing local copy.

  1. Save the .blend and export saved presets.
  2. Copy any edited glassware_settings.txt outside the extension folder. Updates replace that file.
  3. Disable the old local copy, then install and enable GlassWare from the Superhive repository.
  4. Import your exported presets if needed. Different repositories use different persistent preset folders.
  5. Check the scene and presets before removing the disabled old copy. Keep only one copy of the same edition enabled.

If migration fails, disable the new copy and re-enable the old one.

  1. In Blender, enable Allow Online Access in Preferences.
  2. Open the GlassWare gear and click Check for Updates.
  3. When a newer compatible release is listed, click Update addon. Blender handles the download and installation.

The main panel also shows Update available when its repository lists a newer version. Latest listed uses the last repository refresh; it is not a fresh online check. Offline mode disables update actions. You can still work with the installed glasses and drinks.

If the repository is disabled, enable it in Preferences. If an update is missing, check the purchase variant, account token and repository connection. A blocked or incompatible release is not offered.

Blender can also check a remote repository at startup when its Check for Updates on Startup option is enabled.

What’s new (Browser) opens Superhive Orders. Open GlassWare and select the purchased version to review its release information.

  1. Save the scene, export presets and back up edited settings.
  2. Download the latest add-on ZIP from the store you bought from.
  3. Use Blender’s Install from Disk and select that ZIP.

Keep the ZIP zipped. For updates within the same repository, saved presets, custom drinks and favorites have separate persistent storage. Exporting a backup also covers a move between repositories.

When a release brings new geometry, a banner in the panel lists the glasses that are behind and whether the glass, the drink or both changed.

Update All or Selected Only swaps in the new geometry and keeps your material edits, position, collection and drink. Revert Update undoes it; Keep accepts it.

In Edit › Preferences › Add-ons, find GlassWare Free and remove it from the menu on its row. Glasses already in a scene stay and still render.

  • Use the glasses in commercial work, royalty free.
  • The Addon code is GPL-3.0, as Blender requires for every Addon. The models and textures are not GPL.
  • Full terms: LICENSE.txt in the download.
  • Glasses and drinks work offline. Update checks and installation use Blender’s repository connection and respect Allow Online Access.

Write through the product page and include:

  • what happened and what you expected,
  • the steps that led to it,
  • the full error message, if there was one,
